One Poem

My Old Friend Experience

I took a long, hot shower,
And put on my virginal, white panties
Today is a new day,
I can start clean and fresh
Innocent.
On second thought,
I'll wear black

Why is it called the "old friend" experience?

My experiences are the voice that tells me how to deal with situations. For instance, there is a corner that I know I must drive slowly and carefully around because I know from experience that many people fly around it with no thought that there may be oncoming traffic. Some of my experiences haven't been what you could call good. I've made choices that didn't pan out the way I'd planned, however, I refuse to regret anything I've done... I simply let those experiences inform my present choices. Experience is a sort of wise, advising, old friend, if you will, that I'd like to keep around. I think this poem refers to the fact that our past loves make our present and future loves all that much easier and sweeter.
